DevLog 7/8/25 - Demo v1.01 Complete!


Sorry for the lack of updates in a couple weeks, but I've been hard at work with UI Fixes and Bug Squashing! I'm pleased to announce that v1.01 is ready!. I've fixed addressed bug/issue that is reported, implemented many of the recommended improvements that were suggested by players. Hope you guys like it! If everything goes well with this round of feedback, I'll be switching gears to work on the UI/UX visual polish to give it a little more punch ;)

ALSO - I'm going to see if I can post a WebGL version to make it easier for more players to play the game. Easier to play straight from the browser than downloading for most people :)

Updated UI

Here are the issues that were fixed since the last update:

Mechanics

  • Implemented flanking: Enemies/Characters that are flanked or exposed suffer a -25% defense penalty and also take 1.25x extra damage.
  • Selecting an enemy now shows their information & gives you the option to attack then (no longer auto attacks)
  • Space bar functionality - activates/confirms move, special ability, or attack
  • ESC key functionality - cancels out of attack/special abilities
  • Party select (top middle) - clicking on a party member's portrait allows you to select that party member
  • Single-target attack ability "In Range" Panel - if a single-target attack ability is selected, a panel above the pop up menu is shown. you can click these enemy icons to more easily select these enemies. (QoL)
  • Combat modes (melee or ranged) can be cycled using the CNTRL key.

Visuals / SFX:

  • Tutorial UI Implemented. Automatically shows following Scene 1's dialogue. Can be re-opened clicking on the "?" Icon in the top right.
  • Added music to all scenes.
  • Enemy portraits implemented (Combat / dialogue)
  • Combat mode (melee or ranged) are highlighted depending which one is selected
  • Camera follows character when using a "Charge" ability.
  • Top Mid indicator showing whether it's the playe ror enemy's turn
  • Enemy info indicator / UI visual upgrades. Player's HP/AP are now shown.

Bugs Fixed:

  • Pathfinder resets when player hovers over an enemy character
  • enemy gets stuck in enemy turn mode (if on the edge of in-range)
  • randomly abilities fire off but don't execute
  • enemy info panels were blocking targeting
  • some skills incorrectly displayed "Out of range" message when being used
