The Uprising (Demo)

The Uprising is a turn-based tactical RPG with a heavy narrative core, blending cinematic storytelling, emotional character arcs, and strategic, high-impact combat.

You’ll lead a resistance against a Global Federation that has weaponized humanity's greatest invention: a General AI, to tighten its grip on power. What began as a tool to end war… has become the instrument of our undoing.

This Demo Includes:

• The full first act, introducing the core cast and central conflict

• Turn-based tactical battles with hand-crafted enemy encounters

• A glimpse at the story’s emotional stakes, without giving it all away

Future Plans: 

• Originally targeted for a Q4 2026 release, though it may take longer. This is a lifelong dream, and I’m committed to seeing it through no matter what.
• A re-polished demo is planned for a future Steam Next Fest once the game is near completion.
• This early version exists to sharpen the blade. I'm actively seeking feedback to help make The Uprising the best it can be.

The game is only available for PC at the moment. 

Edit:

- Game Save feature is working but saves only work on the World Map. This is intended, I need to grey out the option while in combat.

- Realized some instructions would help! Here's a crash course ;)

• Movement: Costs 1 AP per tile

• Ranged attacks: Cost 4 AP
• Melee attacks: Cost 3 AP
• Defend: Costs 2 AP and ends your turn

- Special abilities are in the center interface, they usually cost 4AP unless specifically stated. 

- Camera can be controlled using the arrow keys or WASD, or click + dragging the scroll wheel. Camera rotation is controlled by holding down the right mouse button.

- Enemies can be attacked by either left clicking on them, or selecting their icon in the bottom right panel (which shows enemies in range)
